Shockwave Therapy
Alan is an extremely experienced HPC registered radiographer currently working for a market leading mobile lithotripsy company dealing mainly in a non-invasive shockwave procedure for the eradication of kidney stones. However his company also utilizes shockwave therapy for dealing with a number of common chronic orthopaedic complaints yet is only available at a handful of NHS trusts in the UK. It is widely used in the USA and in parts of Europe. To pay for this procedure privately in the UK is extremely expensive.
Alan is a keen runner and had suffered in the past with plantar fasciitis, having had the problem eliminated with shockwave therapy, he was inspired to purchase a radial shockwave device and is keen to make this treatment available to the wider public at an extremely affordable price. After an initial consultation, Alan will treat the problem area at weekly intervals up to a maximum of 5 treatments or until sufficient improvement has been accomplished. Alan has extreme faith in this procedure and its high success rates.
How it works;
When the applicator is placed on the surface of the skin - together with a ‘coupling medium' (ultrasound gel) - the impulses are delivered through the skin as a shockwave that spreads inside the injured tissue as an aspherical ‘radial' wave. These radial shockwaves initiate an inflammation-like response in the injured tissue that is being treated. This prompts the body to respond naturally by increasing blood circulation and therefore metabolism in the injured tissue. This accelerates the body's natural healing process by increasing cell generation and dissolving calcium deposits.
Areas treated Include: • Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Spurs) • Achilles Tendonitis/Tendinosis • Patella Tendonitis • Tibial Stress Syndrome (shin splints) • Shoulder Tendonitis/Calcifications • Tennis/Golfers Elbow
