Reflexology

The practice of massaging the feet as a form of treatment is not new and can be dated as far back to the ancient Egyptian civilisation.

Since then, various cultures through history developed their own knowledge and methods of treatment, up until the 18th Century and the advent of the Industrial Revolution led to an increase of scientific discoveries and people becoming interested in promoting and maintaining health. In the late 19th Century advances in the knowledge of the nervous system and the “Reflex Action” was investigated and Reflexology as we know today evolved.

Although Reflexology is ancient therapy and can help most people it is not a cure for all ills and is not a diagnostic procedure. Reflexology aims to correct imbalances in the body by applying pressure to specific points on the feet, invoking a beneficial response in other parts of the body through the nervous system.

Reflexology is a safe and non invasive therapy, which can be used to aid recovery from injury, promotes good health, it can also offer the opportunity to take a break from the stress of every-day life and ease over-used, tired feet.
